I’m surprised at the number of brides who tell me they find it far more difficult to find a suitable veil than choose their wedding dress.  They find the choice of wedding veils in the shops very limited and it's especially difficult to source silk tulle wedding veils.

All of my veils are made to measure so you can have the length and decoration to suit you.  My gallery might give you a few ideas.

To measure the correct length of veil

​

Tier 1: Place the tape measure on your head where you will put the comb let it fall gently down your back then measure to the required length.
Tier 2 (blusher):Place the tape measure on your head where you will put the comblet it fall gently forward over your face, then measure to the required length.

The length will depend on your height, length of train etc.

When measuring your veil length take into account any decoration on the back of your dress.  Let the veil finish either below or above this. Don’t let your veil cut across it.  I suggest a long veil ends at least 20 cms over the edge of the train so that the veil glides along behind you.

Your veil can be as long as you would like it to be. A very long veil looks dramatic in a cathedral setting.

When you measure the blusher, the tier which covers your face, take into account that you may be holding a bouquet.  Would you like the blusher to sit above this or drape over it?

Veil  Styles

• Single tier: For brides who dont want to wear a blusher this is the ideal veil. It is usually full gathered onto the comb though the amount of gathering can be adjusted to suit the individual.

• Full Gathered:  A full gathered veil gives the maximum amount of fullness, pouff. It can be used for a single tier or 2 tier veil. The amount of fullness can be varied by the cut of the fabric. The shorter the veil the fuller it will appear. Please contact me for more information and photographs.

• Centre Gathered:  A centre gathered veil is usually a 2 tier veil with a blusher and longer tier. The sides of the veil fall and sit around the shoulders. The blusher can be worn over the face as you enter for your ceremony or worn back if you prefer.

• Mantilla:  A mantilla veil has no gathering and sits flat on the head. It often has a lace or embroidered edge. It can be held in place with a comb, hair clips or by attaching it to a headdress.

​

• Drop veil: This is essentially an ungathered 2 tier veil. It can be any length. The veil is draped over the head and attached with clips or hat pins. When the blusher is folded back it sits flat on the top of the head.

​

• Birdcage: A small dainty veil attached to a comb and worn just over the front of the face. It usually falls to just above the mouth, or the cage veil is a bit longer and can cover the whole head.
